My research interests are in maternal and child health, community health for the rural and urban underserved, rural health, and continuing education for community health professionals.
TEACHING
I teach BCHS 2599 Public Health Approaches to Women’s Health.
SERVICE
I regularly serve on review panels in the area of primary care and community health for the Health Resources and Services Administration and the Centers for Disease Control, e.g., technical advisory panel for the evaluation of Healthy Start, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, rural interdisciplinary training objective committee, Primary Care Medicine and Dentistry, Preventive Medicine Training, Urban Maternal and Child Health Leadership Perinatal Periods of Risk for the Allegheny County Health Department, the American Public Health Association social work section, and the Center for Minority Health health disparities committee on infant mortality.
